Meet Scott Aase

I am a chemical engineer and independent consultant with nearly 30 years of experience supporting nuclear, radiochemical, and medical isotope production facilities. I provide technical leadership and support for the design, evaluation, troubleshooting, and improvement of high-hazard process systems involving radioactive materials, nuclear waste treatment, and isotope recovery and purification. My experience spans DOE facilities, national laboratories, and commercial nuclear operations.

My expertise includes solvent extraction technologies (CSSX, PUREX, TRUEX, UREX+), centrifugal contactor systems, actinide and fission product chemistry, ion exchange, and highly radioactive facility operations. I have served as a Cognizant System Engineer responsible for system performance, configuration management, and operational readiness, and I routinely support construction, commissioning, startup, and independent technical reviews. Clients rely on my practical engineering judgment, safety-focused approach, and real-world operating experience to reduce risk and achieve reliable, compliant operations.
